Big Baby .. Grackle

Howdee all,

Check out this big baby…Its large ..almost the size of the adult..

Look at the way it carries on. Cracks me up! I am having fun watching all the parents with fledglings this time of year.

I took this through the window of my motorhome..some glare

  1. That's a great video. Love the zoom on your camera. I can't wait to get a new one. It looks like that baby can get it's own food.. LOL I wonder if it's a mama's boy.. ha ha

  2. Baby grackles remind me of the cartoon "Baby Huey".

  3. We have some of these big babies in our yard too. They are so hilarious. Actually I think the parents sent ours packing about a week ago.

Fun video - thanks for sharing :-)

  4. LOL. Fledglings are always hilarious. You are a lucky woman to get to travel around in an RV. A very nice one, too!

  5. Nice video-it's hard for me to visulaize grackles as babies. They just don't seem to have the personality for it. I've been seeing fledgling titmice begging for food.-It kind of reminds me of my father begging my mother to get him something to eat.

  6. Your video is funny! I always think the babies always look huge compared to poor Mom who has been working herself hard to pop out those eggs, sit and hatch them and then keep them fed.
Some babies I've seen are bigger than Mom and still insist on being fed..as they sit and scream from their perch!!

  11. I know some birders don't like them, but I enjoy grackles, and the babies are delightful to watch. They're generally so large that you expect them to know how to fly and land already.
