Saying Goodbye

Today we say goodbye to a good ole boy.

 Jack

My Sister and Craigys dog for 17 years.

It's always hard to say goodbye or to know what the right time is...

Pet owners seem to know..
They have a sense of when its right....
When their friend has had enough.

Poor ole jacks liver stats were off the charts according to the vet...it was just a matter of days....things would start to get worse...they would know when it was time.....

So it has been decided...
It was time..
A Vet will come to the house and put the good ole boy to sleep..

Everyone handles death differently and in the best way they possibly can.
There is no right or wrong.
Adele couldn't bear the thought of seeing him pass...so Craig and their son Colin will be there when it happens.
Jeff and I will say our goodbyes before hand..

It's never easy...ever..
It's heart wrenching...
Made me never want to get a pet again after my last kitty passed...although I know I will again go there....and try again...and my heart will break yet again.
That's what we do...that's the way it is.

So today....
we say goodbye to a good ole boy..
Goodbye Jack

You were well loved.

I Loved You Best

So this is where we part, My Friend,
And you'll run on, around the bend.
Gone from sight, but not from mind,
new pleasures there you'll surely find.

I will go on; I'll find the strength,
Life measures quality, not its length.
One long embrace before you leave,
Share one last look, before I grieve.

There are others, that much is true,
But they be they, and they aren't you.
And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
Will remember well all you've taught.

Your place I'll hold, you will be missed,
The fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.
And as you journey to your final rest,
Take with you this...I loved you best.

What we have once enjoyed
we can never lose;

All that we love deeply,

becomes a part of us.
