  1. I hate to sound trite, but...AWESOME!!!!

Gives me chills to look at it. I'll now add Utah to my list of places I'd love to see. Dooce has some pictures on her blog--a completely different view of it. Think you'll go back? (I'm not asking so that I can hook onto your bumper--I was just curious.)

  4. Ah, the amazing power of erosion. The arches are stately and awe inspirering.

I was just looking at a trip to Arches, about 300 miles away, for one of my 3-day weekends. A long drive, yet now I am more inspired.

    Thanks Dawn. Have fun birding!

  23. Dawn,
Even tho I visited this area a long time ago,..I ALWAYS have time to appreciate the awesome sculptural creations that Mother Nature provides. Your husband's photos are very nice and he sure captured the arches when the lighting was perfect for some neat shadows. An amazing area to roam and explore with so many incredible vistas..
I would go back in a drop of a hat!!

  37. OH my!! Arches National Park! Are you getting ready to go again? About 7 yrs ago I had the chance to go to that area for 3 weeks (couldn't pass it up even though it meant trusting a VW Golf, 5 speed to get us there and back, and it did!) Camera back then? (hate to admit it - disposable.) Highlight had to be the Arches. Stand in awe. That's an area I will always want to see again.

  38. I've always wanted to see the fantastic rock formations in Utah. We have nothing like this in the UK - obviously! These photos make it look so unearthly, like a 1970's sci fi book cover (but better of course)
