Howdee all,
We had a few rain storms come thru today. So between storms Jeff and I did a little birding around the yard. Really quite a nice place to bird. The trees were full of Robins and Cedar waxwings. Lots of Holly and other berries for them to munch on. I will post video of waxwings later.

Clearing evening skies
I have to tell a funny skywatch story.....being new to skywatch it was fun to get comments from people I didn't know...
But I thought it was strange when someone made a nice comment about my photo and then signed "I Love SWF"
at first I thought ...ok ...strange....is this a little too much information?
Is this person trying to tell me something?
Then I got another comment by someone else
they loved my photo and then wrote "Happy SWF"
OK weird.....not that I mind ...but I didn't think this was the type of place for this kind of thing..
then it Dawned on me....
SWF did not mean Single White Female.....
LOL
Happy SWF

Now go out and watch the skies

Ahh... wonderful photos... I loved your post. Made me smile =)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the third photo with the bright clouds and the silhouette of the of the trees in the forefront. Very nicely done and I'm looking forward to seeing many more of your Skywatch submissions!
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for visiting mine!

Dawn, I love the skywatch photos. Lucky you! I have not seen robins or waxwings in weeks now!
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn,

SWF:View From The Top
You're hilarious! Nice shots btw! Happy skywatching! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my SWF post. I'm a MWF, myself. Hehe. I love your pics. I was going to say the second was my favorite until I saw your third one. Awesome I like your cat and bird pics, too.
ReplyDeleteIts' one of my favourite things to watch robins and waxwings eating berries in the autumn months. Thanks for sharing your view of the sky.
ReplyDeleteOh Thank you sooo much for that laugh - I needed that!!!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are really quite nice! I love the skies!!!
Keep SWF'ing!!!
The third picture was my favorite also. As much as I "hate" all my messy trees...you can't beat an ancient tree framed by the late afternoon sky. I never thought growing up that I would own so many trees. They please me very much even though they may scare you and Jeff at times ha. You need to take some pictures of my lovely, glistening long leaf pines and don't forget the bluebirds.
ReplyDeleteNice sky pictures. I like the last one with the tree. Thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I thought the same thing my first week. THey would write "Happy SWF" and I would think I AM happy , but I'm married.
ReplyDeleteGlad I'm not the only one!
I very much enjoyed your beautiful photos.Ballie is so cute, Wish we had warm weather. My hubby was stationed in Nc at Camp lajune. I always wanted to go there. I want to see sphagnum moss hanging from trees like in the movies. Do you have that in your area?
ReplyDeleteHave a great sky watch week.
Grammy
I just love the third photo. The tree and especially the big white clouds makes it great. I am also new to SWF and thank you for you visit to my pic.
ReplyDeletePerfect catch for Skywatch! Mine’s up too hope you can visit.. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteHa,ha I also wondered at first what SWF meant, but as several other commentators used it, I understood that this is the new tradition of using abbreviations for everything in English more than in other languages. I like your photos and the last one is especially my favourite. BTW tomorrow there's CC ( Camera Critters) also a nice meme.
ReplyDeleteWow, these are gorgeously dramatic skies! I'm going to go away now and try and think of some more possible meanings for those abbreviations, I'm sure there are many good ones unsuitable for publication...
ReplyDelete...oh yes and thanks for visiting me too, hope you are enjoying your coffee :)
Happy FOTAF! (Figure out the acronym Friday)
LOL! Funny story. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of beautiful skies!

ReplyDeleteMWF LOVES your SWF photos!
ReplyDeleteHilarious story, and really, your photos are terrific!
:D
ReplyDeleteThat was a funny misinterpretation.
Nice shots!
Good story--LOL and love that third shot!
ReplyDeleteNice SWF photos! ;-) I especially like the last one. Nice sky captures!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by for my submission.
The clouds look spectacular - wonderful pictures! Cute story. I love SWF too! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your video of the cedar waxwings.
ReplyDeleteI parked my car in from of a small bare tree one winter day here in Florida. When I got out of the car I saw that every branch held several cedar waxwings. We watched each other for a while - they were obviously resting during their migration - didn't move. Just let me enjoy the beauty of the unexpected Christmas tree.
I am glad someone is enjoying our robins and waxwings. Beautiful pictures from a MWF, lol!!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNice set of images. Great shots. Looking forward to your Waxwing video!
ReplyDeleteGlad we didn't scare you away with the SWF's, because then we would have missed this week's photos. I also read "tomorrow's" post about the puppy. I don't know how people can be so cruel, but I love a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! Your SWF story made me laugh :) My husband and I have fantasized about traveling around in a motorhome. What fun!
