Howdee all,
Here is our home for a week.
Chassahowitzka River Campground
The campground and area was suggested by a friend..and so far I like what I see here..Thanks Dennis!
The campground is small and woodsy….It used to be a County Park but was recently taken over by new management. The restrooms and showers are very clean.
The campers are friendly..some seasonal, others here just to kayak the river.
We have already been invited to next Tuesdays potluck.
Lets go check out the river....
We are very short walk to the river.
Where hundreds of Turkey and Black Vultures speckle the trees..
see the black dots?
30 dollars for a full day…Not bad.
We will definitely do a few days on the river..
Check out the different routes we can take..which one do you think we should do?
Brown Pelican hanging out near the Vultures...
The boats below are also available to rent..
Better for fisherman..
Many locals launch their boats here to fish. I saw a houseboat, and airboat and other assorted types of boats being launched.
I cant wait to explore the river..
Turkey and Black Vultures riding the thermals..
A Bald Eagle hitched a ride too.
A Great Blue Heron flies in squawking..
And hangs out a bit, before squawking and flying off.
Look whats blooming at the Camp Store..
A beautiful Pink Witch Hazel..
Boat rental and boat launch area…
Florida vegetation..That says~Tarzan was here :)
That was fun!
Time to walk back to camp and make dinner..
