Here we are~ Chassahowitzka River ~ Florida

Howdee all,

Here is our home for a week.

Chassahowitzka River Campground

The campground and area was suggested by a friend..and so far I like what I see here..Thanks Dennis!

The campground is small and woodsy….It used to be a County Park but was recently taken over by new management. The restrooms and showers are very clean.

The campers are friendly..some seasonal, others here just to kayak the river.

We have already been invited to next Tuesdays potluck.

Lets go check out the river....

Chassahowitzka River_010Where hundreds of Turkey and Black Vultures speckle the trees..

see the black dots?

Chassahowitzka River_011They rent canoes and kayaks..

30 dollars for a full day…Not bad.

We will definitely do a few days on the river..

Check out the different routes we can take..which one do you think we should do?

Chassahowitzka River_015The boats below are also available to rent..

Better for fisherman..

Many locals launch their boats here to fish. I saw a houseboat, and airboat and other assorted types of boats being launched.

Chassahowitzka River_016I cant wait to explore the river..
