Howdee all,
I took this photo at Green Cay Wetlands in Florida.
If you have never been…I suggest you check it out your next time in
Florida.
A great place to get up close and personal with the birds.
I love all the duck weed at Green Cay,
Adds nice contrasting color and the birds seem to love it as well.

The photo is realy great. I like the other pics in your blog as well. You're doing a great job, capturing the beautiful moments of nature.
ReplyDeleteDawn,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo of this heron..and with that striking color of the duck weed surrounding it..wow!
I am thinking of learning about digiscoping. What hints can you give me...I am a true beginner at everything concerning birds.,,photography :( but any info would be helpful.
Zunnar,
ReplyDeletethanks so much for your kind comments.
Tina,
ReplyDeleteI would gladly help with whatever questions you have. I am still a beginner as well...birding and photography..ha sometimes I just get lucky..
I just started digiscoping a few months ago. We recently bought a scope, my husband made an attachment so that I can hook my camera up to it..and that is about all..I usually put my camera on auto but when I took my class I was told to use the iso settings etc...I still need to try that.
I havent tried digiscoping small birds much..they move around so much and my camera is not fast.
Maybe someday I will get a digital slr.
anyway ..you can email me anytime if you have questions.
That is a great digiscoped photo.
ReplyDeleteSmall active birds are a challenge no matter the equipment used.
Lovely. Look at his green feet!
ReplyDeleteAndy,
ReplyDeleteThanks..yes i will keep trying..but my thought is that I need a faster better camera..but so far I havent found what I am looking for in a small package.
Vickie,
ReplyDeleteThanks..I love those green duck weedy feet!
Beautiful, just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great shot, Dawn.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo with all the contrasting colors!
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous, clear photo of a beautiful bird! The bright green color of the duckweed is striking also.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot, Dawn! I think the Tricolored Herons and the Little Blues are my favorites among the heron/egret clan. And that brilliant green "muck" (what we've always called duckweed) sets off the subtle blues and purples of the heron perfectly.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, Dawn.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! My attempts to digiscope have failed so far.I haven't given up yet though.
ReplyDeleteVery nice capture!

Thanks thanks...for your sooo nice comments!
I am really impressed with your digiscoped pictures. What a beautiful bird!
ReplyDeleteThat wonderful green contrasts beautifully with the heron. And its green covered feet puts a smile on my face. The advantages of going barefoot.
ReplyDeleteAwesome picture. The lighting is just perfect. I love the green duckweed (?) adhering onto its feet.
ReplyDeleteAwesome capture of the Tri-colored Heron Dawn! And the background really sets it off nicely. I definitely need to do some bird photography in Florida!
ReplyDeleteSuperb shot Dawn! Looks like you are getting the hang of digiscoping. The duckweed does give a good color contrast to the photo.
ReplyDeleteAnother cool picture. You will have to show me how to digiscope when you visit here.
ReplyDeleteA little late in commenting. I love this picture of the heron in the duck weed and the duck weed all over his feet. Great picture.
