Howdee all,
Jeff and I were told to go to Tern Island for birding..
It is also a place where people go to dig Steamers at low tide.
There were lots of Semipalmated Sandpipers and Plovers, a few Piping Plovers, Yellowlegs, and Gulls and other shorebirds.
Yummy!
Birding and clams, a great combination.
ReplyDeleteI once stole a Huge clam from a seagull after it dropped it on the beach at Pismo. Yum!
I didn't know clams were called steamers.. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's why I am heading up that way next summer... I am dying for steamers & LOBSTA'... we use to go clamming all the time when we went to Buzzards Bay for the summer. (my Aunt's place then my parents)

These particular clams are soft shells..they are great steamed.
