Howdee all,
While in Richmond we were told we should got to Hollywood Cemetery.
So we went..
Looking for Dead Presidents..
Hollywood Cemetery is a large, sprawling cemetery located at 412 South Cherry Street in Richmond, Virginia. Characterized by rolling hills and winding paths overlooking the James River, it is the resting place of two United States Presidents, James Monroe and John Tyler, as well as the only Confederate States President, Jefferson Davis. It is also the resting place of 25 Confederate generals, more than any other cemetery in the country.
Included are George Pickett and J.E.B. Stuart.
It was a very gray and chilly day.
The fall foliage was our sunshine
James River, Train and walkway..
Set high on a rolling area rolling hills
A lovely place for a walk ..and a bit of history.
James Monroe (April 28, 1758 – July 4, 1831) was the fifth President of the United States (1817–1825). Monroe was the last president who was a Founding Father of the United States, the third of them to die on Independence Day, and the last president from the Virginia dynasty and the Republican Generation.[1]
John Tyler (29 March 1790 – 18 January 1862) was the tenth President of the United States (1841–1845), after being the tenth Vice President of the United States (1841). A native of Virginia, Tyler served as a state legislator, governor, U.S. representative, and U.S. senator before being elected Vice President in 1840. He was the first to succeed to the office of President on the death of the incumbent, succeeding William Henry Harrison.
We didn’t have our bins..but saw and heard quite a few birds.

It was fun to experience autumn again..
