My facebook friend Donna says ...”infuriating to photograph because one can never capture its metallic beauty.”

Lexington walk_086

Jeff and I are busy helping our daughter with her wedding plans.

I missed a cool Swarovski trip I was invited to this past weekend.

I appreciated the invite…

It was fun following everyone's updates from the trip~though, it did make me very jealous. :)

Still happy that I stayed here to deal with any last minute issues.

20 days and counting… Smile

Me myself and what I saw…

Howdee all,

Jeff was in Connecticut. It was a beautiful morning for a walk..

So off I went.

A guard rail full of Queen Anne's Lace.

Looks like a window box.

Seed head of Queen Ann's Lace.

I love it..so luscious and pinky..

Lexington walk_014

Dragonfly of some variety that I should know..but I don’t….YET

Lexington walk_016

It was lovely and shady under the trees..much cooler than that sunny area.

Lexington walk_020

But the sunny area was full of activity..

The field grasses were glowing..

A song sparrow greets me….ok..so maybe it wasn’t greeting me, but it did ask me about the weather..

Lexington walk_040

A lady bug checks out the edible foliage..

ok, maybe its not looking for edible foliage..maybe its just going for a walk…I don’t know…I just write this stuff..

Lexington walk_043

Look at this purdy vine ..it has lovely spikes of white flowers and leaves that look like maple leaves..

Lexington walk_045I liked the curly tendrils..all different..

Lexington walk_052

I left the field and into the woodlands again..

Lexington walk_053

A Mallard family mucks about in the tiny stream..

Yeah… I don’t know if is a family..maybe they are related or maybe they just met~ ….once and a while I make up what I think could be happening.. Its my blog and that’s what I do..hee hee

Lexington walk_055

Oh lookie here…I watched this fella and took a gazillion photos..

I could not for the life of me capture the brilliant metallic green..It looks blue here.

More photos of this later. (I did not make up what color it was)

Lexington walk_117

I continued on..to the end of the path…this Mallard is the last critter I saw before my walk took me out of the woods and into Lexington Center..

Its sniffing its tail feathers…Really!  Smile

Shhhhh Don’t tell….

Howdee all,

Shhh…

Don’t tell my sister-in-law

There is a spider in her garage…   (Hi Margie)   ;)

With a big beautiful web..

New hamp_070Shhh..don’t tell her…

New hamp_071The afternoon sun was shining on the web ..

I tried getting a clearer photo of the spider but it was washed out by the sunlight.

New hamp_072Look at that web detail ..

Do you know how a spider makes its web?

Look at the little dots…

New hamp_077I found its web amazing..

Surprise in the woods-

Howdee all,

Took a muggy morning walk today..

I saw a large bird fly in front of me..my first thought was hawk..
I didn't expect to see an owl so close to the pathway.
See the owl in the above photo?
It flew there after initially landing in a tree directly above our heads..
Barred Owl

Jeff and I turned around and watched it fly to another nearby tree..

We watched it..

It watched us...
We didn't approach the owl..
I took a few more photos.

We then turned around and continued our walk..
We didn't see the owl on our return walk.
What a great surprise.
I hope it found a nice place to sleep away from the path.
