Howdee all,
Today we decided to check out Emerald Island.
We are camped near the inter-coastal.
We took the bridge over to the island…and stopped at the Bogue Inlet Fish Pier
Jeff walked the pier..
I loved that the green of the water matched the green on the wooden poles
I walked the beach and saw a Great black backed Gull
Ring-billed Gull
We hopped in the car and continued our journey stopping at a Marsh
Way up there is a Belted Kingfisher..
see it?
I walked the pathway to the inter-coastal
Then back to the marsh …and into the car for the next stop..
More beach
Its nice being here off season…
No one on the beach..
We drive on and get out again to view another part of the beach..
I find an old tire with beach life on it..
I walk and look for shells…
We continued on our journey and left the island..
We did a short driving tour of Beaufort, a quaint little town rich in history..
I didn’t take any photos in town.
We continued our tour..
Our last stop of the day.
Harkers Island-Cape Lookout National Seashore
We walked the mile long path just off the side of the Visitor Center.
A boardwalk to a view…
Its lovely!
We follow the boardwalk back to the path.
We ended our walk with a
Sunset…
A beautiful way to end our tour
