We spent a quick 6 nights in the Keys…
Key largo~
Not nearly enough time…but we saw a bit more than we did nine years ago when we were here.
I was sooooo very happy to discover huge family groups of snails on one of our walks on Key Largo.
I wont say where we saw them here…
They are protected…but if I know you and trust you, message me and I will tell you where I saw them.

Showing some throat..
So..one early morning while in Key Largo..
Our precious young friends…we call the Kids…who happen to be most astounding bird and nature guides…woke up early and drove over from Miami to show us around.
They wanted us to see the
Key West quail dove..
and so we headed to Long Pine Key State Park to be there when the park opened at eight.
Five minutes or so later…
Angel had the bird..
We had great looks at the male and short looks at the female.
Then they disappeared from view..
Until Mariel found the male again.
Having had a perfect start to our morning with a Life Bird we continued on
Angel holds a Hermit crab..
Mangrove crab..
Some kind of snail..
I wish I could have captured how turquoise blue the water is here…
I didn’t…
so here Is a beautifully colored Man of War..
Mariel shows off her new teeth..
Least Sandpipers hanging out..
Oh darn…they told me what this is ..but I forgot…
It reminds me of watermelon and seed..
When In Margaretville you must go somewhere on the bayside for sunset..
So Jeff and I went to bayside Grill to eat and watch..
We weren't the only ones here for the sunset..
The Keys is a one big Margaretville..
A place to hang and sip Margaritas…
A place to slow down…
to sloooooowwwwwwww down
to look around…
see what going on around you..
