Arethusa Falls~New Hampshire

Howdee all,

Still with the Hiking camp in New Hampshire…I went on the hike to

Arethusa Falls.

New Hamp hiking camp_036A short 3 mile round trip hike.

New Hamp hiking camp_039The hike was a bit of a workout..but not difficult.

New Hamp hiking camp_040It has been dry in NH and the falls weren't at their best…

New Hamp hiking camp_041They were still beautiful despite the lack of water….

It’s a great place to sit, soak your sore feet and have lunch.

Glen Boulder hike ~New Hampshire

Howdee all,

Jeff and I cut our Maine trip short so that he could go to Hiking Camp with his brother in New Hampshire…

I joined in on a few hikes myself.

Hiking camp teens form a like to unload and stack wood.

The first hike we went on was..
  Glen Boulder Hike

Distance (Total):
3.2 miles / 5.1 km

Elevation Gain:
1,754 feet / 535 meters

Difficulty:
Intermediate

Nearby Town:
Gorham, New Hampshire, United States

Glen Boulder, visible to travelers on Route 16, is a glacial erratic curiously perched on the mountainside in Pinkham Notch. This steep climb leaves Route 16 from the Glen Ellis Falls Parking area. The trail rises above treeline at a relatively low elevation, passing two trail junctions, crossing brooks, and traversing open rocks on it's way to Glen Boulder. The views along the way are tremendous.

BwBTC~Want to go Birding?

Howdee all,

Birders who Blog, Tweet and Chirp

Want to go Birding in New England?

You can be a Bird blogger, a twitter or facebook user…or you can just love looking at birds. All are welcome.

BWBTC

It has been a busy summer and I haven't had time to get a birding outing together.

image

So…I now have a bit of a lull…and have a few time periods and places that might work for some of you.

image

1~Jeff and I will be in Chatham on Cape Cod for three or four weeks beginning on the August15th. Anyone interested birding South beach?

2~Mid September to early October we will be in Massachusetts …Anyone want to bird Plum Island or other places nearby?

3~October~We will be in Connecticut. Luke Tiller said he would be interested in a get together …He says good time for Sparrows…I assume he will show us around like last time. Also, if you are in the area, Luke has a few fall Audubon trips scheduled.

image

Let me know what place or places that work best for you in the comment section here… I might try to get two or three outings arranged depending on interest.

Its always a fun time…
