Howdee all,
While in the Tetons….
I started using my macro feature on my tiny point and shoot Panasonic Lumix.
I had fun shooting water droplets.
Trying to capture..the color beneath the droplet as it magnifies the leaf.
Sometimes the droplets looked like crystals
I looked for fat..round droplets
of these beautiful orbs..
And close ups…
i wondered if it was possible to capture a landscape in a droplet..
or maybe my own photo…but i wasn't able to do it..
any ideas on how to do that?

ReplyDeleteAwesome shots, Dawn..so fun to play with macro..there are so many details we miss that are evident when put in a macro pic! I think this is why I am forever drawn to O'keefe's work of her up close flowers..just such neat line and design..as well as reflections and color! Neat to see the pieces that make the whole. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've heard really good reviews about the Lumix, and someone at the hockey tourney this weekend had one with a 12x zoom. It took fantastic movies. Your water droplet photos really bring the quality home. These are gorgeous. When I'm ready for a new point and shoot, I'm going to get one of these!
ReplyDeleteTo get a scene in the droplet it is usually easier if the drop is on a blade of grass or on the tip (bottom side best) of a leaf. Every one I've ever seen the landscape is upside down, but still totally cool.

ReplyDeleteDawn, these are excellent macros. I usually wiggle to much and they're blurry. I've seen landscapes and people reflected this way. Practice makes better.

ReplyDeletePeaceful post :) I agree a landscape scene seen in a droplet sounds beautiful. That thought reminded me of a picture an autistic boy once drew of my eye. In it's reflection he drew the room we were in. Awesome sketch and memory thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHow COOL! The clarity is awesome Dawn. Doing a landscape through the water drop would be a challenge, but I can imagine you are never afraid of a challenge! :c)

Wow! those little droplets came out nice.a lot of times when I try to do maco it comes out of focus. I've got the day off so I've got plenty of time to check those sites out.

ReplyDeleteLovely job Dawn..I would love to capture those perfect little drops. I don't know how you could capture the reflection. I got one by accident in a frog's eye..but I don't think I could repeat it. Thank you for all you do toward birding and other conservation issues and for participating in Nature Notes... Michelle
