Chilly but still fun in Sanibel…

The temp has changed the last few days..

When we first arrived the temp was in the 70s…

Yesterday it was windy and chilly on the beach.

It felt like it was in the 50s and windy.

Jeff and I happened upon this Millipede Starfish on our walk. It was a first for us.

We went out to breakfast with our kind landlords.. Ken and Linda..their favorite the Island Cow..always fun and good food.

After breakfast we birded a few small retention ponds in hopes of seeing a Great White Heron that has been seen there.

We didn’t see the Heron but we did see other birds and many Wood Stork.

We finished at Shell mound looking for the White-crowned Pigeon so that I could get a photo…This was a life bird I saw several days before but sadly I didn’t get any photos ..and our third attempt didn’t yield the bird.

Luckily we saw this Pileated woodpecker doing its thing on Shell mound trail

Our next and last stop for the day was a trip to the beach..

We drove to the end of Sanibel and parked at the lot and headed east.

  1. Loved it! A wonderful 5-minute respite from the cold here in Michigan (I'm a slow reader...). :)
