Winter Festival at The Garden Supply Co.

Howdee all,

Yesterday we did our monthly Raleigh/Cary food and shopping trip.

We always like to stop at

The Garden Supply Company for its wonderful plants and décor.

During the Christmas Holiday Season the Store is ablaze in color and amazing décor.

I love looking at the imaginative ways they decorate the trees.

IMG_3516The Garden Supply Company is always a delight to wander around in.

Always something new and different, whatever the season.

IMG_3521Oh…an Asian inspired tree.

IMG_3522I spy an owl..

IMG_3523Owls are very trendy now.

If I had a home I would buy the owl lamp below!

IMG_3525This place is enchanting to the eyes and senses

IMG_3526If you go to the back of the store you can pour yourself a complimentary cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

I wandered around enjoying a yummy cup of tea and enjoying all the delightful decorations.

IMG_3528This particular tree was Buddha inspired.

IMG_3536A very cool upside down Owl tree…this tree was suspended from the ceiling,

another trend in Holiday trees.

IMG_3538I spy a mushroom!

IMG_3539I didn’t count the trees that were decorated, I am guessing 15 to 20.

IMG_3543One of the store kitties.

IMG_3541Whimsical and practical…a great place to store peppermint treats!

IMG_3545The store sells other wonderful creations..

IMG_3550I loved the snowman tree topper!

IMG_3555Wow!

I look forward to this treat every year!

I just sent my new Panasonic Lumix camera in for repair so all of these are taken with my ipod touch.

Howdee all,

Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

I know that you are not Biatches..but my inner Gansta took over.

While on facebook this morning, facebook friend Sheridan Coffey posted a link to Gizoogle.

Gizoogle is a parody website~

This is a non-profit parody website, and not affiliated with Google in any way

I have been cracking up reading blogs via Gizoogle ever since.

For instance read mine here.

Below is an excerpt from one of my blog posts that was changed to gansta…

Howdee all,

Sans Binoculars…seems that’s been happenin a shitload lately.

(Barb Padgett..did yo ass peep that, biatch? ^^)

They changed the lyrics to On the Road again

"On tha road again
Just can't wait ta git on tha road again
Da thuglife I ludd is makin' noize wit mah playas
And I can't wait ta git on tha road again
On tha road again
Goin' places dat I've never been
Seein' thangs dat I may never peep again,
And I can't wait ta git on tha road again."
Willie Nelson

So… have fun with this!..I realize this is not for all of you..some may not like swearing..so don’t go there.

Evening Light in Carthage

Howdee all,

When the sun gets ready to rest its fiery head it starts to light things up around Sickstas yard in Carthage.

The grandfather oak starts to glow.

Carthage (11)The trees across the road and at the far end of the field begin to light up..

Carthage (30)The moss takes on an other worldly hue..

Walking the Greenway~

Howdee all,

Jeff and I took our daily walk at the Greenway, Nick Creek Section~ Aberdeen.

Sans Binoculars…seems that’s been happening a lot lately.

(Barb Padgett..did you see that? ^^)

Greenway_001The leaves are falling in NC now…

Greenway_009Oaks seem to be holding onto theirs longer.

Greenway_010We heard and saw many birds and wished we had our Bins with us.

Oh well…. Greenway_012We did come across this sweet little Fox Squirrel.

Actually its not that little ~(Sciurus niger) is the largest species of tree squirrel native to North America.

Greenway_004I didn’t know what kind of squirrel it was until I googled~ squirrel with black face and white nose.

I came up with a few hunting blogs and website with photos of dead Fox squirrels.

They are hunted in many states.

Not much of a sport in my opinion, when this one saw me it stood like this for a few minutes checking me out.

Greenway_006

On the last leg of our walk…and the last leg of my camera battery, I was able to take one photo of this moth.

Eastern Buck Moth

A beauty!

  • Lorri Freedman Dawn, It might have just emerged from it's cocoon. It could sit for quite a while letting it's wings dry. It looks like it's in perfect condition, so that's probably it. That's when moths and butterflies alike are most vulnerable.
