Adele and Craigs Garden and Home...

Howdy all,
Jeff, the fur boys and me are settled in Adele and Craig's driveway where we will be for another month or so. We have been doing some house cleaning....a little shopping....a little gardening....and just hanging out.
The weather has started to cool...no more 70s for a while. It was in the 60s today and it will cool to the 50s later in the week.
I walked around the yard after using the leaf blower for a bit....took these photos....

Happy Holidays to you all......

Thanksgiving In Pinehurst, NC

Howdy,
Jeff and I are in North Carolina visiting my sister and her husband and fur animals....Adele, Jeff and I went out for Thanksgiving lunch at the 1895 Grille at Pinehurst.... Craig was working there and wasn't able to eat with us...but he came over to the table a few times to say hello.

Since we were going to cook a turkey later in the day we decided to order Fillet, and Striped Bass. Everything was very yummy and we left stuffed Turkeys.....

We had a nice walk around Pinehurst and then home again to cook Mr. tom.....
Jeff made a marinade which he then injected into the turkey. 4 hours later the temperature was finally right and the button popped out....it was kinda dry...but still tastes good.

Jeffy and I did a little black Friday shopping today...got a few bargains.

We had the turkey dinner today...yumm....we had mashed turnip, green beans, baked sweet potato, sausage stuffing from new york, and of course turkey and gravy.

Tomorrow we will go to the Open house at the nursery where Adele works.
Lots of Christmas tree lightings, parades and festivals the next few weeks here....I look forward to going to all the festivities.

that was our delicious Thanksgiving lunch......

Left the Big Apple ...heading south

Sams Condo...before.....

Howdy all,

Just left the Big Apple....had a nice time sprucing up Sam's condo. We Painted, added curtains and the bench with basket storage. jeff installed a new lock for the door. Check out the before and after pictures.
As much as I don't care for the smoggy, crazy, pushy, shovey, city...I love some things about it. Great food,yummm...cant find good veggie restaurants like the ones here....and so many to choose from. Samarrah knows the best veggie places. and some great non veggie. Check out a few of the menus of the restaurants we went to. Great to walk out the door and have so many restaurants to choose from.
Mana great veggie food
Noodle Pudding wonderful Italian...few blocks from Sam
Pinkberry very different icecream alternative....healthier and tastey

We are headed south, where the pace of life slows wayyyyyyyyyyy down and people are real friendly, and the weather is nice and warm.

Its amazing how long the fall foliage has clung to the trees this year. We are now traveling just south of New Jersey and the colors are still beautiful.

Steve Saradnik ..Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame

Howdy all,

Sorry it has taken me so long to post this.....but as some of you know the night before Steve was inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame, his wife Lena had a stroke.

Despite how scary and difficult this must have been for Lena she
insisted Steve and their daughter Tracy attend the ceremony.

Lena is recuperating nicely and we all hope that she will be back doing all the things she loves to do very soon.

Steve Saradnik, Chatham second baseman
The hard-hitting infielder from Providence College played four All-Star seasons for the Chatham A’s from 1964-67, highlighted by the ’65 season when he batted .349 with two homers, 17 RBI, 37 hits and 34 runs scored. He also hit .314 in ’64 and .311 in ’66, when he led the league with 31 runs scored. A native of Natick, Mass., the talented second baseman was instrumental in Chatham’s’ success during the mid-1960’s, including the 1967 season when the A’s captured the CCBL championship. He played in the Seattle Pilots’ farm system.

read the article in the Cape Cod newspaper

Traveling again

Howdy all,
We are on the road again....Arrived in Eastham, Cape Cod... staying at Atlantic Oaks Campground.

It was an easy stay at the Smoots with Daniel and Matthew..
Jeff did most all the work...which was quite easy..
He made breakfast and lunch for the boys then drove matthew to school...Daniel drove himself.... Dinner was made by both of us most days. Both boys did homework while Jeff and I cleaned up after dinner... I did laundry and gave matthew foot massages...he loved them..... I stayed in Homey at night and Jeff stayed at the house. We did errands, some nice walks and a little birding during the day.

Margie and Sandy got back yesterday they had a nice vacation but were glad to be home again ... they brought back some nice wine and porchini mushrooms for Jeff and I.

We are now on our way south...via cape cod.... We have a friend who is being inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame and will be going to the festivites on Saturday.

Had a wonderful bike ride when we arrived today....the campground is located close to the bike trail. We hope to go out and ride again tommorow if the weather is nice.

It feels wonderful to be out traveling again. We will do a quick stop in CT. to say Hi and Bye to the family there...and continue on to NYC to visit with Samarrah.
Then onto North Carolina.
Yippeee...
On the road again....

below is a short video of Matthew dressed up for a Halloween Party.
